Cleaners in Malvern

Malvern's housing runs from Victorian hydro villas cut into the hillside to post-war bungalows and new-build closes on the flat. We cover all of it: Great Malvern, Malvern Link, Barnards Green, Poolbrook and West Malvern.

Malvern owes its shape to the Victorian water cure. Once Dr Wilson and Dr Gully turned the town into a spa in the 1840s, developers filled the eastern face of the hills with large villas and boarding houses on terraces cut into the slope. A great many of those buildings are still standing, now divided into flats or lived in as family homes far larger than anything built today.

That inheritance makes for distinctive cleaning. Tall sashes with deep reveals. Original tiles in porches and hallways. Cast-iron radiators, ornate cornicing, and staircases that climb three or four storeys because the plot was too steep to build outwards. West-facing bays catch every scrap of afternoon sun, which is lovely and also shows every smear on the glass. Eco-friendly, non-toxic products suit older paintwork, waxed timber and natural stone far better than harsh chemicals do, and here that is a practical advantage rather than only an environmental one.

Not all of Malvern is Victorian, either. Malvern Link and Barnards Green have plenty of interwar semis and 1950s estate housing, and modern closes ring the edges of the town. There is a working Malvern that visitors often miss too — the Morgan factory on Pickersleigh Road, the science park and the technology firms that grew out of the old radar research site, and the schools. We quote for offices, studios and small business premises here as readily as for houses.

The service list here is the same as anywhere else we work — routine visits, spring cleans, carpets, upholstery, move-out cleans — but getting to the door is not. The hill roads are narrow, parking is often sloping and on-street, and some front doors are a flight of steps above the pavement. Describe the access honestly when you get in touch and we will plan the visit around it.

Stairs, slopes and split levels

A lot of Malvern property is built up rather than out — three or four floors, half-landings, and a flight of steps up from the road before you even reach the door. That genuinely changes how long a clean takes, so we would rather see the place or hear an honest description than guess from a room count.

Old surfaces need a gentler hand

Lime plaster, waxed boards, original quarry tiles, stained glass and painted cast iron all react badly to aggressive cleaners, and the damage is not reversible. We choose non-toxic, pH-sensible products for exactly this reason — it matters a great deal more in a period Malvern villa than it does in a five-year-old semi.
