Bromsgrove sits under the Lickey Hills at the top of Worcestershire, close enough to Birmingham to have been a commuter town for well over a century. The railway is much of the reason: the Lickey Incline immediately north of the station is the steepest sustained main-line gradient in the country, and the station itself is on the direct run into Birmingham New Street.

The town's older character is industrial rather than genteel. Bromsgrove was a nail-making town, and Sidemoor and the streets around it still have the small workers' cottages and terraces that went with the trade — compact rooms, steep stairs, and later extensions bolted onto the back. Aston Fields grew up around the railway with its own Victorian terraces and parade of shops, Charford is largely post-war estate housing, and Catshill and Lickey End keep a village scale with plenty of interwar and modern detached.

There is a well-established commercial and institutional side too: Bromsgrove School and the other independents, the business units around Aston Fields and Buntsford, professional offices in the town centre, and the visitor traffic that comes with Avoncroft Museum and the Lickey Hills country park just up the road. Office, retail and communal-area cleaning are all things we price for here, not only domestic work.

Because Bromsgrove is a drive rather than a hop, we would much rather agree a standing slot than fit you in piecemeal — a set weekly or fortnightly visit works better for everyone.
